She remained an elegantly beautiful woman even in her older years. This was taken in 2020. Hard to believe she was 70
I've always had a bit of a crush on her. I didn't know she was fighting C.
I actually liked Night Court.
Harry Anderson (Judge Harry Stone) sat next to me on a flight from New York to Los Angeles back in 1983 after making an appearance on SNL.
He said "you don't know me but I'm famous...I just landed a lead role in a big sitcom that's going to be called Night Court".
That comment stuck with me as it showed how "engineered" Hollywood is...hits aren't a matter of chance, they're simply the result of throwing enough money at a project to get the best writers, actors, etc..
In reply to Jerry :
He also had been on Cheers a few times.
You don't realize how tall everyone in the main cast of Night Court was until you see Harry towering over everyone else at the bar.
Now I am trying to remember if John Larroquette had scenes where he was standing relatively close to familiar people in the Star Trek movie he was in. (He was a depressed Klingon)
I may very well have googled pictures of Markie when I was a not very much younger dude.
Harry Anderson had a slight of hand act that involved inserting a knitting needle under the skin of his arm and moving it around. Made my butthole pucker quite badly. He was either a very good illusionist, or was a very good (original definition of) geek.

Or he was having some fun with it. Of course he'd like to think that his new gig was going to be big.
That said, the best writers and actors do tend to put out a superior product than lesser writers and actors.

Maybe Harry Anderson said that in case you were going to say "hey, you're Harry the Hat." I think Night Court was his first lead role after doing many bit parts in TV.
And you better believe TV is engineered, especially here where networks still rely on ratings for advertiser dollars. It's why so many sitcoms change a lot from the first season.
Hive,
I'm pretty sure he meant it as I described as he mentioned who the creators, producers, and writers were (nothing about the other actors though).
Perhaps he didn't know as he had just signed on or perhaps he wasn't allowed to say.
I'm not in the business so the names didn't mean much to me but he seemed confident the show would do well based on who was involved.
BTW, Harry Anderson passed away in 2018 at the age of 65 due to stroke.
Anyway, sorry for the thread jack, back to Markie.
You'll need to log in to post.
