My wife's son's dog died this evening. Apparantly from a Black Widow bite. Not certain, but seems to be. Cisko was 14yo, lived a good, long life, but I cried like a little girl. Rest in peace, Cisko.

I never get through a pet passing without bawling. They're like family. Sorry for your loss.

Death is the sucky part of pet ownership (stewardship, really).

They ARE family. It's only a coincence of birth that I was born with two legs and them with four.

14 years is a good run. Think of the fun times. It will help.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. All dogs go to heaven.

I believe that 99% of dogs are good dogs, and you can usually tell just by looking at them.

Agreed. My pets are such a big part of my life, it doesn't feel right to say that I own them.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. Celebrate your memories of Cisko with a photo collage, I find that has helped me with the passing of my pets.

I still get all teary eye'd thinking of my buddy "ozzie", he was part of my life for 15 years, puberty, girlfriends, girl chasing, and my first marriage, and the courtship of my current wife. The fool even chased me off a 60ft cliff once. Man I miss him. This always gives me hope to see him again someday. I still go sit out where I buried him on our family's property (one of his favorite walking areas in the woods)sometimes and talk to him when things get rough. I feel for your loss, really do. Pardon me while I go wipe my eyes now. Geez u'd think a 31 year old wouldn't cry over his dog.

If there's a 31 year old out there that doesn't cry over his dog... he's not someone I need to know.

I'm sorry for your loss. Like Hess said, it's the hard part about pet stewardship.

I still miss my dog who had to be put down two years ago, and I dread the day that the dog I presently have will no longer be with us.

Sorry for your loss.
