Baur, harbor freight has a new brand

I was at HF, and noticed new demo hammers, hammer drills, and portabands by Baur.

Very very little information online, although HF reviews are showing that they fixed the blade cutting into blade guide problem of the Chicago electric portaband. Supposedly, new name, slight improvements.

As my current portaband has a 2 year warranty, I'm thinking about upgrading to the baur, but the jackhammer and sds drill have also caught my attention.

Has anyone tried the new brand yet personally? Or maybe found a comparison somewhere?

No experience, but if they don't get Kiefer Sutherland to promote their line of floor jacks, they're missing an opportunity.

I don't think it means much of anything. Chinese factories will slap on any label art that the buyer supplies.

Meanwhile at Harbor Freight HQ:

"Chicago Electric is getting a poor reputation as a brand. Somebody tell the new intern to come up with a new brand name and design a logo for the label."

Exactly, which is why thay have "tailgator" brand generators now that are the same as their crappy old little one. Plus they put lots of these brands in the "not valid on" section of their 20% off coupon.
