I feel for those working from home. As nice as it has sounded in the past I never got anything accomplished when working from home because of kids and well those pesky home and auto projects that stare at you while you're at your home desk.

I feel bad for my kids mother as shes stuck at home with them while working from home. She's having to take multiple breaks from work to set the kids up for their zoom/skype/facetime class sessions. Having to help them build their Rube Goldbergs and paper airplanes (things I wish I was home for). Having to deal with cranky kids who don't fully comprehend why they can't go into school and see their friends or why they can't go to the pool or beach.

I've been fortunate enough to be required to go into the office everyday even at the risk of catching the disease even when I'm 2500 miles away from my family.

Take breaks, get some sun, get that blood flowing, take some time to concentrate on your mental, physical, and emotional health as well.

Before this, I was working in an office but my entire team was in Florida (plus one in Belgium and two in India) - there is one guy on my team who is in the same office as me (Chicagoland), but even though we're on the same team we don't actually interact for work more than 4 days a month. So for me, this has been no different except I have bigger monitors at home. So count me in the "Working from home is an awesome perk from the pandemic" group. I'm hoping that I don't have to go back to the office; as it is I won't  have to go back until mid July at the earliest.

Right now isn't the best example of it, but the best part of WFH is that they don't really know or care where home is. Can be at the lake house, in the mountains, wherever. You don't have to stay home. Except for now with the Stay at home orders.

But I'm on the phone all day, my so the social interaction thing isn't much different. The big thing that I'm missing is reffing and playing hockey.

I'm not loving it.  Dealing with a young kid while trying to do work is difficult.  Efficiency is down.  My desk setup is mediocre.

I do hope it becomes more normal in the future so I can work from "home" effectively once in a while when I want to.

I'm not working from home, but I honestly don't think that would bother me too much. What's killing me is not working at all. I'm trying to make sure that the guys get their hours. If I'm doing the work I usually do that doesn't happen.  Now I go in, get them headed wherever they need to go, shuffle a few papers, make a few phone calls, and end up watching Youtube videos for hours on end. It's driving me nuts.

I've seen a few of your post about taking care of your workers.  I commend you. I have friends working (worked) for small companies that the owner said screw y'all and covered their own ass.

Man, I love the people on here. More than one email checkin on me. I was in a lousy place today, it must’ve bled through in my verbiage. Love you guys. Thanks for givin a e36m3, it matters. Weird times, it’s good to know there’s a community that cares about each other.

We're all going to get some bad gas and have our air/fuel ratio get way out of whack at some point.  You'll ping and rattle for a little bit.  You lifted just a hair to keep from burning a hole through the piston and sending a rod out the side of the block :-)

I really resisted working from home. I've been surprised how effective I've been with three kids at home. The flip side is that I've been painfully busy. Like no time for anything sit down at 7am don't get done til 7 at night and weekends and still impossibly behind schedule pit of my stomach ache busy. It's been non stop for 7 weeks straight. But hey, at least I'm still working.

Brother, I am very new here and about a month or so ago I freaked out in the panic thread about being 3000 miles from home essential and working almost too much. I was at my limit and vented, a Kieth here said we got your back. Instant relaxing as much as it could. I came home a month later and I cannot tell you the weight off my shoulders. GRM helped me not crack.

This hobby is amazing.

Best part of my whole ordeal is I got out of a 2 week quarantine today and bought a 50yo car. 2nd best part is I am getting sent back to the 3000 mile zone in a month and have to quarantine again, but in a hotel room. I am driving the Cayman out and quarantining in that.

This sucks, we all have our own issues, but I can guarantee you have a friend out there somewhere.

Man Carbon,

I was in the same place about 2 weeks ago so I get it. It's so different now and just with different stresses that just were not there before. It overwhelmed me like it sounded like it overwhelmed you.

Find a small happy place in all of this. I just started taking any calls after 4:00 while walking. Just that hour outside in the neighborhood helped me so much. Figure out what it can be for you.

I feel blessed to be fully employed and fully paid during all of this. Doesn't mean there isn't stress.

We are hear to listen.
