A friend of mine from high school is a geek--yes, a girl geek--and is raising money for a "geek girl" calendar. Since I know we have a few geeks here, I figured that some of you might be interested:

And true story, when we got stymied by a Wii game, an e-mail to Jenna quickly got us back on track. Hey, everyone needs a geek on call.
I could care less about geek girls, my headshots are gender-blind.

So many immature things can be done with this post.

Excellent, go girl geeks!
My girlfriend is (also) a software developer. I'm very pro-geek-girl.
That said, a $12k budget to make a calendar?

That's actually pretty cheap considering the photographer, editor, not to mention printing runs.
I'd pay $12k just for the girl with the nosering.
In reply to curtis73:
Yeah, after some quick calcs, I see you're right (especially after noticing that they plan to fly everybody to one location).

most of us are dorks not geeks ..
I'm more the nerd type. My daughter swears she is a nerd, she's actually a nerdling. But she is a Dr Who fan, guess she's leaning geek.
Dang. I wouldn't mind hooking up with some of those geek calendar girls, see if nerd and geek are even close to compatible.
once I figgered it out brainiacs were the only way to go

Jeez--I dunno if they're going to make their goal in time. Long way to go...
My wife is "evil genius smart" but she's not a geek. Well-versed in a lot of pop culture, but not really engrossed in anything.

Now that I think of it--I have a student who is a total geek (music, video games, TV, movies, pop culture) and is beautiful. She once blew off a class because a new video game came out--and was cool enough to admit that was why she skipped.
Cripes, she watches Quantum Leap!
I'm honored to be the one who is filling her head with musical knowledge. I feel like Dr. Frankenstein.
girls pull off being a geek better than the boys do.
If the girl in the white sweater is on every page, I am in.
Hey we're a bunch of girls who want to be models, pay for us to get our break!

I think would be "Dash" and she hails from Florida.
You'll also notice after browsing the bios that many of them want to be actresses or some other profession that depends on being hot, quirky, and well photographed.

They were only pretending to like Firefly?
Seriously, if a girl does not have burns from welding or can quote dungeon master rules from memory... you gotta be skeptical. If she is attractive in any conventional way and asking for money just go with "playing on your boyish fantasy" and give that money to a hooker so atleast you get something for it.

Yep, she was the only one I was interested in.
If the Mythbusters chick isn't in it, it's not truly a good geek girl calendar. The one blonde on there (with the green in her hair) is quite the cutie, though.

I have to agree that a girl who can fabricate is pretty awesome. I miss when mythbusters had Scotty Chapman
