Or a Meat and Liquor store in Beecher Illinois.
If people are only realizing now that they name may have a double meaning, I'd love to know what rock they live under.

Kind of similar to those sharp stubby angle wire cutting pliers that are now so evil that they are censored on this web sight.
And what about the little Dutch boy who saved the world by pitting his finger in one. And now if you were telling your kids the fable about a him pitting his finger in.... . Well you know. The department of child welfare would be called.
So if you go to Netherlands what do you call all those things.
Not a funny name, but I always think of this store when convenience stores are a topic.
"I assure you we are open"

Dykes? Or is it Dikes?
Amazon still sells them and lists them as such.
https://www.amazon.com/dykes/s?k=dykes
I just bought this set and they are very good dykes though Knipex calls them "angled diagonal cutters." I'm pretty sure you will never hear me yell across the shop, "Bring me the angled diagonal cutters." I'm going to continue to use dykes.
It's just funny to me because these stores were originally Git-N-Go stores that were bought and rebranded Kum-and-Go and NOW it's got implications? It always has.
In reply to Toyman! :
I've been blue collar a very long time. Any tool room worker offend by the traditional short name of diagonal cutting pliers, needs to get a job at a fast food joint , and leave a spot for someone that wants to work for a living!!!

This is exactly what I went to.
"None of these women are in danger. Here, I don't think I'm explaining this well."

I was asked by the HR touchy feely types to stop referring to them as dykes. I said no way. They are dykes. The big boss sided with me and I was the first person in corporate history to stare down HR and win.
