Marjorie Suddard wrote: I come to the site less and less, too. Not because of spammers--about the only thing I do anymore is check for spam and remove if found--but because I let the constant bitching of a few people (who seem to be able to muster bile on any subject, which is remarkable) affect the experience. We are working to address problems. I believe we have answered that before. To many of the people who are still going "but whyyyyyy???" Here's the reality: We have the resources to reprogram and fix just a handful of global problems each month. Some have to wait. Right now fixing Search (because you demanded it, remember?) will consume most of our resources. We've also had to delay any sort of global fix for spammers because we've been responding to requests for numerous desperately needed, why don't we care and do it NOW type issues. Sorry about the spam, that we can delete. The general tone of bitchy posts by users, though... there's only so much that mods can do. At the end of the day, we all live in a world of our own creation. Margie
thank you Margie… as for the spam …no big deal, we post links to them for the mods, and they get taken care of … I've never really understood why folk get so wound up about them… sure they take up room, but it's usually pretty easy to see that they're spam without wasting time by clicking on them…. if you don't want to help by linking them, then just ignore them and move on, someone else WILL take care of it
and Margie, thanks for babysitting us (our whiny selves )
again for the spam, there seem to be lots of folk that have begged for vBulletin … NASA-SE uses that, and they have several HUNDRED spam threads to delete each week … so I don't thing vBulletin and other systems aren't the answer either
GPS is just grumpy because his race cars are all broken and it's too cold/cramped in the garage to work on them.

Unfortunately, it's pain I know as well...
Maybe there should be a thread for all the stuff-that-pisses-people-off. Then we could get it all out in one place and leave the car talk for other threads. I'll start:
Abortion is wrong
Far right religious nuts are insane, and atheists are smarter than everyone.
Bacon is delicious
Bullitt is not the best car chase ever filmed
The forum software sucks and nobody wants to fix it.
Foxtrapper is too short
Prius' and Smart cars are the stupidest things ever made.
Miata is NOT the answer.
That should take care of most of it...
In reply to ddavidv:
Is this thread now about fishing for flounder in a canoe? Good god man, what have we done!

Wait, people argue about this? I've lost all faith in humanity.
