"My Opponent Hates Puppies!" Got this in the mail this weekend. I'm keeping it always. Margie
I don't know, but that is one stupidly-cute dog. It makes you sick when you think that there could be someone who would want to hurt it. Damn, I'm not voting for Scary Barry Flynn. And that's not just because I don't live in the right state.
Anyone who can't understand why someone would want to kill a small, possibly cute-looking dog hasn't been around many small dogs. Most common vermin are indiscriminately killed for less than a lot of small dogs get away with.
Yeah, but you can never trust campaign mud at this late in the game. The truth is probably that the neighbor's Doberman was attacking Flynn's adorable 3-year old daughter or something.

Flynn was arrested, once, about eight years ago. The charges were dropped, and he eventually received a court settlement of more than $34,999 from the person who accused him.
Flynn tells the story:
Flynn lived in Orlando, he said, and had a long-running dispute with a neighbor whose dog was frequently unleashed.
Once while Flynn was jogging, the dog attacked him. Flynn called Animal Control.
When the dog attacked him a second time and bit him, Flynn chased the animal. The dog’s owner accused Flynn of burglary, assault and animal cruelty, and Flynn was arrested.
All charges against Flynn were dropped. He went to court and got a settlement in excess of $34,000 against the dog’s owner, and also got a false-arrest settlement from the City of Orlando.
I wouldn't vote for someone who can't even kill a dog.
Attempted dog murder... please. That just shows he can't even get the most simple jobs done.
How could the Republican Party of Florida think this was going to work, especially in light of the actual facts as presented here by That_Renault_Guy? It never occurred to them someone from the other side would make the facts known as quickly and as widely as possible? How much respect would they generate for their candidate by telling a half-truth? Especially when they omitted the more important half!
Here in SoCal, we're dealing with a voter fraud scandal where a company representing the Republican Party told potential petition signers they had to register as Republicans to join a petition regarding tougher penalties for child molesters. Some were duped outright. Others had their affiliation changed without their knowledge. The GOP paid seven to twelve dollars a registrant. CA law says no party affiliation is needed to sign any petition.
The party of Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt is now the party of subterfuge and sweaty-palmed desperation.
Here's another apropos movie quote for you, Margie. It's a good companion to your Jimmy Stewart quote from "Harvey:"
"There ain't nothin' more powerful than the smell of mendacity."
HOW TO MAKE A SUCCESSFUL POLITICAL AD 101:
1a. Take a quote such as: - "I find that people who are convicted of rape are some of the most despicable people on earth, and the women that survive them are some of the strongest people around."
1b. And take out all of the boring stuff. - "I... rape... women."
1c. Find a despairing image, resample it at 30 pixels/inch, make the face huge and slightly off-kilter, and make it black and white.
3: PROFIT.

The GOP has competition in its' attempts to dupe voters.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has been running a blatantly dishonest ad (in Georgia) that paints an incumbent Republican senator as one who plans to raise taxes with a 23% tax rate.
Obviously this is tied directly to the Fair Tax which eliminates ALL income taxes (plus all embedded taxes) and replaces the current revenue-generating mechanism with a consumption tax on new goods and services. It's interesting the Dems in Washington DC (led by shiny, happy Chuck Schumer) chose to leave out that part and then run the ad in a state where the Fair Tax has its' highest level of voter support. Only fools and kool-aid drinkers can fall for that kind of deceptive advertising.
Please supply some links to the voter fraud you mentioned in California. It's rather tiresome that ACORN has been getting all the attention if they're not alone in using dubious registration tactics.
It's more surprising the national media hasn't jumped all over the topic when it provides an opportunity to bash Republicans for doing the same thing as Democratic operatives.

Thanks for the link, Jerry!
You must really peeved about the revelations of manipulated registrations in NV and OH, too.
Both sides suck and nobody wins............

I saw that ad last night.
It's not just deceptive and misleading, it's flat out dishonest. Had me hollerin' not too nice things to my wife in the next room.

I saw it while in the middle of a very polite "you're not stupid, you're just ignorant" conversation with one of our democrat friends...the one who doesn't have a job...and therefore doesn't pay taxes...and didn't watch any of the debates, but was really proud of herself that she watched the special "weekend update episode" of Saturday Night Live.
Anyway. Yeah, I said some pretty horrible, blasphemous things when the commercial came on, which then launched me into "and let me tell you about the fairtax...!"
