Warning: Rantings of a grumpy old man follow...

Okay, I'm tired of Yahoo. After nearly 20 years, I am giving up on them. I want a page with headline news. Free.

I do not want to watch videos. I do not want to hear about the Kardashians. I don't know what an "RSS feed" is.

Sometimes I want to run out to the store and buy a newspaper!

What do you crazy kids use for news?

Hmm no videos or Kardashians...Reuters? They're a lot lighter on videos and celebrity junk than CNN.

I'm subscribed to RSS feeds from plenty of news sites. Wish my feed reader could filter out celebrity stuff.

I am lucky, My local news is NOLA.com which is the online version of the Times Picayune. National News, I check the BBC or Al Jazeera, but I don't mind the videos.

Reuters.com still has a standard news style webpage.

I get my news from The Onion. "Families Of Missing Flight Passengers Just Hoping Media Gets Closure It Needs". Now THAT'S news.

Truthfully? Here. I check my local news, and if it's a worthy enough story, I figure it shows up here.

Yes, this is why I changed my home page to GRM from Yahoo, but now and then I still like to make sure I'm not missing something.

Haha, you are an old man if you have yahoo as your homepage. What is this, 1998? (I am literally lol'ing right now) :p

For international news, BBC. For local/national news, large car forums with active off-topic sections (no, seriously). Before any news site had it up, our premier (governor of our province) resignation was already being talked about on the local HUGE car forum.

I can make all you O.G.s with Yahoo as a homepage feel better.

I have a vendor that uses and @aol.com for their business email.

They use Wang Green CRT terminals in their company.

BBC and Al Jezeera for a different perspective and stuff you'll never see on US news. Locally the news usually goes like this: politician indicted or other antics, 8 year old kid in Englewood neighborhood hit by stray bullet from a drive by at 1:00a (I live in the Chicago burbs).

Yeah, I was on aol before I went with a local ISP. I remember thinking in 1995 that this internet thing was pretty cool and maybe I should buy some aol stock. Nah, prolly just a flash in the pan.

Google News for me as well. It links the majority of the important news sites.

Reddit and Facebook are surprisingly quick for "at the minute" news.
