From my home office wifi on laptop, tablet, or phone, if I try to go to CL I get a white page with only the following text:
This IP has been automatically blocked.
If you have questions, please email: blocks-b1470977184021597@craigslist.org
I sent an email to the address listed. All I wrote in that email was, "I don't know why I am blocked."
If I take my phone off Wifi and use cellualr data then CL still works fine.
Anyone know reasons why?
Will my life continue if I can no longer see CL?
Does my Wifi network know that I should not be spending and should be working rather than wasting time on CL?
Apparently, Craigslist is taking ideas from addiction centers. Banning your location is step one. The key question- which one of your friends is starting this intervention?
That's weird. Try unplugging your cable/dsl modem and Wifi router from the power, wait about 5 minutes, and plug them back in again. Hopefully you'll get a new IP from your internet provider which will temporarily solve the problem.
I'd also be looking for malware on your devices that might have caused the blocking. MalwareBytes for the laptop, not as experienced with Android/iOS so I'll let others chime in there.
You could have been issued an IP address that someone else using your internet provider used to have, and they may have been causing trouble. Ask nicely and I'm willing to bet that Craigslist will lift the ban.
Soliciting hookers is not a legitimate business.

Maybe it is an intervention?

I have had this happen a lot. It goes away after a day or so. I never found out why, nor did Craigslist ever answer any E-mail about it.
In reply to tuna55:
Same. Sometimes it goes away within a few minutes.
I recently hat this happen at a doubletree hotel I was staying at. No problem connecting over cell data, but on the hotel wifi, same notice as above.

I've had that happen with me at work! I emailed them and they lifted it. No big deal.
I figure the following:
They have a suspicion of my IP so block and give a vague notice to send email.
It is not about what the email says but rather that a reply is send which then seems to validate that a human (and not machine) is behind the computer.
When CL gets to that email, they will lift the ban.
Still no resolution yet.
I'll run for Malware just to be safe.
I had that happen once after some aggressive, rapid-fire CL use with multiple active tabs being used in quick succession. My guess is that CL detected that I was pulling a disproportionately high level of traffic from one IP address and blocked me on the suspicion I was some kind of bot.
I unplugged my cable modem for a few minutes to get a new IP and was good to go.
I got a 'you are blocked' message recently when I left my VPN on. Turned it off, bingo, back in business. CL reeeeally didn't like the IP of the VPN hub.
Yeah, if I leave my VPN on then no Craigslist for me. If you're not using a VPN, then it's probably just be a fluke on their end grouping your IP in with known VPN IPs. Or something.
They are trying to save you from yourself Maybe they think you already have a Challenge soccer-mum wagon so you shouldn't be browsing for more...
