I realize this is over the $2009 limit, so I'm posting it just to share the coolness.

I'd love an "M" powertrain in my wagon.

This '93 BMW 525IT station wagon was subjected to a complete powertrain overhaul a few years back. The list of upgrades are as follows:

  • 1995 BMW E36 M3 S50/OBD-1 Engine (currently has 235k on it)
  • 5 speed transmission
  • Conforti Cold Air Intake w/ upgraded software
  • Short Shift Kit
  • Lightweight Fly Wheel
  • Hartge Sport Suspension
  • Illuminated M3 Shift Knob
  • "Smoke" Front Turn Signals

This touring sleeper was never raced and runs GREAT. The engine still purrs, pulls hard and has plenty of life left in it. The engine swap was done by Strictly German in Atlanta 5 years ago and they did a flawless job in mating the electronics, transmissions and engine into this body. Has since been maintained by Sam's Automotive, which has stamped this wagon with a clean bill of health. Must be seen, heard and driven to appreciate.

235K on an M motor?

don't they ever need to be replaced?

That is a cool car. Looks nice but the price seems a little steep for a swapped 17 year old wagon with 235k on the motor.

$4500 seems like a better price to me.

My E36 325i is at 243k and pulls like a beast. The motors never die, only the electronics.
