I've got a buddy looking for a Hobie 18 Magnum and has not had much luck locally in FL. He is heading to Vegas for a conference and for S&G looked on the local CL boards and found what looks like a really nice boat/trailer deal. Problem, boat is in Vegas and is a bit too oversized to check on the plane home...
As he used to live in Vegas he does have a buddy who can store the boat/trailer until transport is secured.
So, questions:
Anybody heading from that part of the world to anywhere in the SE US anytime in the next few weeks and feel like dragging a boat this way for $$$?
Or, has anyone used a transport service for anything like this before?
Other options?

Take your question over to www.sailinganarchy.com and post it in the forum section.
If you have never been there before, tradition is that you will be told to both f-off as well as expected to show your GF's tits before help will be given.
So, post up your question and finish with some googled picture. You will get a ton of answers.
I have not used them and I do not know their name but there are many services that will move boats cross country for less than you can do it yourself.
Well acquainted with SA. I will post there as well. Figured because it had more to do with the road than the water content that I would try here first. Thanks for the suggestion.
I've been on Pirate 4X4 where they have a column devoted exclusively to hauling stuff.
They tend to be left coasters but it can't hurt to ask.

I just sold a motorcycle in Ohio to someone in Miami FL. He used www.uship.com to set up trucking. He said he used it several times in the past and always got good rates. It is a reverse auction. People bid on the shipping, driving the price down.
The lady that picked the bike up was in a pick-up towing a boat. She was dropping the boat off in FL and the bike to my guy then having a vacation. She had already arranged picking up some stuff on the way back.
I think that the guy paid less than $300 total shipping for the biek and several boxes of spare parts.
Excellent info. I had seen uship but nice to hear from someone who has actually used it. I will pass on all this info to him.
