You have a problem with number 3; it only lets me choose one "Least Important" option, one "Most Important", etc.

I used forced ranking. It is supposed to be that way.
Thanks for taking the survey!
BAM done.
I want a pink ship of the line. Who's with me?
I didn't actually put that, but it would be pretty sweet.
Done. I already have a boat in the family that I am the user 90% of the time, but I am looking for a smaller one, an 11-15' Boston Whaler, and only that. I've had a 13' or a 17' Whaler since I was born, and have developed such a level of respect for them, that I will always own a classic Boston Whaler. Talk about brand loyalty, but I think they deserve it.
Here's mine, hotlinked for your pleasure 1983 Boston Whaler Montauk 17', 2005 90HP Tohatsu TLDI. Original gelcoat and teak.
I am surprised at the number of people that answered sail.
Someone wrote Barrel back Wood boat. I think those are just cool!!!
The 455 jet boat, sadly, has become quite over-rated. You would be surprised what you can do with less engine and more speed these days. RPM is your friend with jets. Very few current Jet builders go that way though. Seems only the PWC crowd understands it. Maybe it is just easier to go with the flow than to open up the market with a disruptive technology.
Some pics of a Saetta kit boat. The guy sells pre-cut kits or finished boats. Pretty.
I took the survey, but I might skew the answers a bit since I'm looking for a utility boat. It will be painted signal orange to keep the jackasses in their big power boats from running me over.
Also, you really do need an "I already have a boat" option.
My FIL and I were just talking about this last weekend. He wants to get a "family" boat. He wanted my suggestion and I told him a Bowrider. I have liked Maxum boats (a division of Bayliner) so I'm going to push him towards that.
This is the actual model I was looking at about a year ago until I remembered I had money.

I'd go used Sea Ray, based on my grandfathers experience. I wish I were four years older; I could have bought the one he just sold with his vacation property.

I believe that was me. A buddy of mine got me into wooden kayak kits a few years ago... I've been dreaming of wooden boats ever since. I found a couple of sites that sell plans rather than kits, with sizes ranging from 17' up to 23' or so and V6 or V8 power.
That's the semi-realistic dream...
The other dream is humongous yachts. The kind that would have a garage in...
Just a point, if you already have a boat, click the "not in the market for a boat" option. That covers both the not interested in boats as well as the already have crowd because most of the already have crowd finished the survey, the not interested crowd doesn't. I can see how many answered question 1 vs the rest. But I do appreciate the feedback!!!
I am looking at possible market share for a new process to physically build the boat and I am looking for the largest population of boaters interest. The NMMA has the categories very large and keeps you from getting any really usable answers, (especially in product planning)

Why Maxum boats? What about them made you choose them?

Looks like my boat Mine was made in 1964 and has a 83 'rude 15 horse on it

As far as fiberglass, I've been in Bayliners, Sea Rays, Rangers, and Maxums. All of them have been in rough water (Green Bay). The Sea Ray was the smallest at 16 feet, and though it got tossed around a lot, it always felt like it and the ranger were the best built out of all of them. Maxum wasn't bad, but it just didn't feel as solid.
That being said, I'd prefer to go with aluminum.
