July 4th evening- LOTS of fireworks going off all over the area. So many that it looks foggy from all the gunpowder smoke. Mostly real fireworks, have not heard too many gun shots. That may change later. How about your area?

It's been drizzling here on and off all evening. There are fireworks going off, but less than in some past years.

We've been at home since about 8:00. I think my neighbors may have a howitzer in their yard judging from the sound. Fireworks that fly or explode are illegal in VA, but I don't think it's enforced around here. I can't believe my daughter hasn't been woken up yet.

New Years Eve/Day and Independence Day are the only two days I'm glad I live in a neighborhood full of old people. It sure is quiet.

My flight from Cali landed at 6a this morning. Sure glad I went to bed this morning. Neighbors have some pretty cool fireworks, but I can hear some of the guys in the next neighborhood over using firearms. When the berkeley did Independance Day become an Afghan wedding?

Going on now...we skipped going, and can see most of it from the house.

We went to the local ballpark tonight. The Cubs won, and the fireworks were nicely done. Hope everyone had a nice day.

Spent the day in the town I moved out of a couple months ago to spend the day and visit with friends. Caught the fireworks in town and it was the best show the town has put on for a few years. Back home now and at midnight we're only getting the occasional boom.

Every year I pray for a July 4 downpour so the neighborhood dimwits don't attempt their annual show. It hasn't rained in a month here, all our yards are brown, and these guys are out there shooting off who knows how many potential fire-starters in every direction imaginable.

I guess I should be happy firearms aren't involved (to the best of my knowledge).

I dont really mind them on the holidays, but it would be nice if they just stuck to the holidays and didn't stretch it out so long... Where i live fireworks start start a week before every holiday and end a week after, so it gets annoying. luckily its been rainy, so not too bad, but im sure as soon as it clears up, theyll all be playing battling banjos for fireworks supremacy. My dogs hate the fireworks, one wants to chase them and just barks, the rest hide. after a few days of trying to keep them calm, I start to get annoyed...

my wife really is unhappy with the 4th celebrations in CT. In upstate NY, where she is from all the little towns have fireworks on the 4th. Here, we are so close to NYC and BOS, that the towns have 4th celebrations on the weekend after the 4th. This break from tradition makes my wife angry.

other than that.. It was $3.99/lb(1-1.25lb) and $4.99/lb(1.25lb+) lobsters at Stew Leonards.. Ohh yeah we had a feast...

I go to the range probably almost weekly, and I still cant tell the difference from some fire crackers and gunshots.

More neighbors were setting off fireworks this year than any year since we moved here in '98. They were going off all around us for most of the last few evenings. At least none of our neighbors has set fire to our yard this year.

I have a client called Fireworks Supermarket and as you can imagine, their whole year is based on this week. Most of their business is selling fireworks to the I-75 corridor travelers. Probably the guys who were disturbing y'all. We appreciate the business.
Having said that, my wife's MS6 got hit with the residue of some ordinance. Luckily we saw it and washed it off before it got baked on.

Wasn't bad in my neighborhood this year. I have lived places where July 4th started about June 30th and went to July 9th, based on fireworks shot off at night.

Yeah, this was in a city as well. No one cared.
