Which is exactly what the people saying we shouldn't curse all Muslims did. Every goddamn time.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!
Whatever, man.

So, what are you saying? Do you think we should curse all Muslims?
I heard a great one on Fox today:
So one brother is dead, shot last night.
Or maybe he was blown up.
We're not really sure.
Anyway, whatever happened, it wasn't good for him.
At least they were honest about not knowing what the heck is going on.
The thing I don't get, why is wishing for them to be one color (white) acceptable, and wishing they were another (brown) VERBOTEN?
...which was pretty much exactly my point last night. Why are people trying to pick a berkeleying team here? And while I think it's weird to "WISH" for one race or religion or another to be responsible, I think it's downright berkeleying sad that people can have so much antipathy for their own country and their fellow Americans, that they WISH some white, american-born, presumably republican dudes would've been responsible for murdering little kids.
Did I say "sad?" I meant berkeleying sick.
BTW, I wasn't trying to turn this into an anti-Muslim thing. I was responding to Jerry's post. And after AT LEAST 50 thwarted attacks since 911 by less than 1/2 of 1% of the US population, I think at some point it's valid to ask "Why the berkeley were these dudes in the country in the first place?" If we need cheap doctors that badly, let's figure out a way that we can grow our own.

I'm dissapointed that you've chosen to take some semantic arguement and attack me rather than think about what I was actually saying.
Are you new here? You chose the wrong wording, therefore your argument is invaild. God forbid if you misspelled the word too
(cough) clip/magazine (cough cough)

No, I'm saying people should stop being hypocritical vajajays while accusing the other side of being hypocritical vajajays.
Which is something I've noticed time and time again from the supposedly "tolerant".
It's perfectly okay for folks to demonize all gun owners as dangerous nuts or to blame young white males for all of the worlds problems but the second someone says something about muslims or points out some flaw with blacks or anything, the same exact people who have no issue with calling for my rights to be trampled over something I'm not responsible for start gnashing their teeth and calling for people to get strung up for having opinions that go against what is currently acceptable.
Frankly I'm berkeleying tired of it.
Interesting developments with the manhunt/shootout.
Kinda have mixed feelings - good that things seems to be a path to a fairly quick and decisive resolution. A bit disturbed at the massive police/storm-trooper presence, lock-down and house-to-house searches. Having a little dissonance about where I live.
For that matter, not all Muslim terrorists have the same mindsets. I get the impression the Chechnyans are usually more nationalistic - "We don't want Russians ruling our homeland" compared to the "Death to the infidels" sort.
Just like any other religion (or lack thereof), Islam has adherents that happen to wish somebody dead for reasons that may have nothing to do with their religion. They have their share of people willing to use terrorism over nationalism, racism, political ideology, or just because they're loony enough to believe that shooting a head of state will give them a chance to nail Jody Foster.
Not denying that jihadists are not a real threat; they certainly are. But Islamic terrorists also exist in non-jihadist sorts that fall into the same categories as non-religious terrorists. It's possible the Boston bombers may fall into the latter category.

Okay. Wait.
We're saying exactly the same thing. If you guys didn't assume you already know everything I believe we wouldn't have a problem. I don't take issue with anything you just said. (Well, the way you chose to say some of it is... I'll leave it alone) It is not "okay for folks to demonize all gun owners". That's what I was saying.
I do not think we should curse all gun owners because some gun owners do bad things.*
I do not think we should curse all Muslims because some Muslims do bad things.
*Note: that's not to say I don't believe there are reasonable measures that can be taken to make things safer for everyone. But that's for a different thread.

Congratulations on completely missing the point of my post. This 6 year veteran including Desert Storm doesn't really think he needs to defend his "apathy for his country", but for insinuating I love blowing up little kids you win the Special Award.
