Yeah, Boston is one of those places. Everyone calls you brother. It gets annoying, and people bicker like really grumpy family. Can be a very polarizing place. However, when the chips are down, and faced with adversity, hell has no fury like a pissed off Bostonian. They bicker like family, but they also protect like family. There is no doubt in my mind they'll find these creeps and they'll get dealt with one way or another. They will not forget and they will not give up. They are good people.

Possible pics of the evil SOB, hotlinked for your pleasure:

Not sure if he is the guy, but he looks out of place, and he's got a black nylon backpack on his arm like he's going to drop it on the ground.

Whoever they picked up, they are taking to Federal court. Good.

NASIOC Off Topic.

Seriously, for every major news story, there has been a member there at the time of the incident. There were multiple NESIC'ers there at the Marathon, either running, watching, or partying. Not sure where that image came from though, maybe the supposed Lord & Taylor security footage?

Interesting. i went to the major sources and they are reporting young male. The guy here looks mid 40's and not all that gainfully employed. I envision him on websites from his parents basement.

The internet also thinks it was these guys.

From what I've heard, piss poor homemade claymores. Pressure cookers loaded with ball bearings and pyrodex or black powder.

That guy with the combover though, does that bag have the "Fox-face" logo? There are official pics of a bloody and bent zipper handle with that same logo.

Looked at all three. The reason I like this guy is his pack looks particularly full and heavy. I'm still convince that the second bomb, if it wasn't military grade (and most experts seem to agree it wasn't) had a crap load of low grade explosives in it. The disappearing packs on the other two guys are interesting, though. Then again, "Hi, I'm Clarence, I'm 40, and I live in my parent's basement" dude looks like he's scanning for cameras. And maybe, just maybe, its none of the above. Hopefully the Feds have this all sorted out.

In reply to kazoospec:

Maybe for #2, since they have not said what it was, but there's no pressure cooker in the back of that pack. Those are 10" in diameter (picture most the width of that pack), and hard. It would be sticking out. (it's also not very loaded, unless his jacket is firmly on his shoulders- it's not deforming his jacket, nor is it strainign the pack at all. 5lb is enough to weigh it down more than that- and I'm SURE that the device is 10-15lb, with pot+powder+nasty metal stuff)

even the earlier picture with the guy in the white hat- yes, the pack is sticking out, but it's in one spot and does not look like a clylindrical shaped pot. At least the pack is being weighed down on his back.

But white hat guy is alot more likely than guy with kakhi pants. Still need to look for him.

beard guy way up... hmm can't see enough to make any thoughts.

^^Everybody in that picture looks like they're scanning for cameras.

Lotta speculation, and the last report I heard is they don't even have someone in custody.

Agreed. There are lots of pics out there of people with backpacks. Could be anyone. That guy is just one of many.

Also, now they are saying that no one is in custody or has been arrested. Better to be correct and accurate than first.

Remember, everybody is hanging out at the end of a marathon. So they've got nothing to do but watch for one particular person, and if you can see 1/4 mile down the road they only have to look at the runners about once every 2 minutes. So you look around. And you carry a backpack full of warm clothes, snacks, etc for your runner.

Sorry, "tongue in cheekness" didn't come through very well. My point is there are reasons why each of these people could be "the guy(s)". And also a very good possibility its none of them. Richard Jewell comes to mind.

What about that dude lookin at his watch? Vuuuury suspicious. It isn't like he might have been expecting someone any minute... Or that black chick in the Livestrong braclet - she is fat... no business at a sporting event for runners. What about that old dude with a backpack... no way he is holding a backpack with a change of clothes, gatoraide, and a sandwich for a runner - he is a loner that looks like he probably has a weapons stash. No possible way his daughter is a competitor.

There were only 75k people who could have done this. These three pictures are all we have.

Suspect everyone.

Assume the worst.
