I want to know who is behind it. I know it's possible that they were by themselves on this, but consider it unlikely. The Chechens have been giving the Russians a very hard time for years, but what would they accomplish by coming here? Yes, I really hope they get that one alive. "We have ways to make you talk!!" Also interesting is that with the full weight and power of the most sophisticated law enforcement agencies in the world working this case, the morons tip off the cops by robbing a 7-11. These guys are not bright, another reason to think they are not alone.

It's not the whole police using race to describe the suspect, of course you have to do that when searching. I am talking about people using it for political "I told you so" kinda crap. Fox News and MSNBC being the main two I am talking about.

I thought I heard on the radio this morning, that the police had taken a third person of interest into custody after stripping him down to search for bombs on his person.

On another note, yesterday during the FBI press conference, did anyone catch the second question that was asked that the special agent in charge just ignored? I imagine it was some conspiracy nutter but I didn't quite catch the question, and was just curious as to what was asked.

Yeah. Regarding the 7-11 heist, either they're ballsy, suicidal or just really stupid. Take your pick, I guess.

I think the connections that these people had are highly valuable. We need to know if they were acting with groups overseas or were lone wolves.

A guy working at the Boston Globe says he was good friends with the younger guy and said the suspect was very "Americanized", and although he didn't drink, was very social and friendly, came to parties, had girlfriends, etc. This Globe employee did not know the older brother or the suspect's family, but said that he knew this dude very well and he just did not seem at all like a terrorist, he did not seem angry or overly political.

The family has been here for 4-5 years at least, some reports are saying as long as a decade.

The older brother, who was killed, did have a charge of assault/battery, but no other history that i've heard.

This is just what I've heard on NPR fyi.

I originally thought this was a fear of Xena, Warrior Princess but that didn't make sense so I looked it up.

Which is why I brought this up in the first place. It's necessary to use race, sex etc to describe someone; then there's always some asswipe who will claim it fairly/unfairly (depending on their POV) denigrates an entire ethnic group.

I personally wouldn't care if these two were green with purple polka dots, they need to be captured. Same as with any criminal.

EDIT: And I'm not racist, sexist or xenophobic. I'm misanthropic so I hate EVERYONE equally. GTFO my lawn, dammit.

Update from CNN this morning (not feeling well, so I'm home watching the news):

The two suspects are brothers.
At some point, they tried to rob a 7-11.
They attacked an MIT police officer last night and then hijacked a car.
They told the car's owner they were the Marathon bombers and let him go at some point. There was a "shootout" with the police. The older brother was shot, was run over and possibly threw out explosives.
He was taken to the hospital where they pronounced him dead. He did have explosive devices on his person and a trigger.
The younger brother is still at large and they are asking people in the area to evacuate because he could potentially be carrying explosive devices with him.

Interviewing school mates said both were in area high schools and seemed like normal students. The older brother was a golden gloves champ and possibly going to turn pro. The younger brother got a wrestling scholarship.

I'm just trying to keep people updated because I know for myself, it's much better to read the digested and less money/attention driven news here than suffer through the regular news.

Apparently one of them has a Russian Facebook-type page and lists his world view as "Islamic".

berkeley, I was kinda hoping for a regular Christian very-white average guy in his mom's basement. If only to counter the slew of "those damn Muslims again!" comments. (All along I was thinking regular white dude disgruntled about taxes similar to the Olympic bomber guy.)

Apparently that guy is a member of some group (it's named after some guy which I don't remember, but they have a website) that is very heavily conspiracy related. I believe he was asking if the bombing was a "false flag" which means it was setup by the government to justify more extreme surveillance, control etc.

So basically, wacko crap.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/boston-bomb-suspects-dad-tells-son-surrender-hell/story?id=18995936#.UXFjYbWkofR

ABC News said: Boston Bomb Suspect's Dad Tells Him to Surrender, Warns ' Hell Will Break Loose' if Son Dies [....] The elder Tsarnaev insisted that his sons were innocent, but said he would appeal to his son to "surrender peacefully." "Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia," the dad said. The father warned, however, "If they killed him, then all hell would break loose." "If they kill my second child, I will know that it is an inside job, a hit job. The police are to blame," the father told ABC News. "Someone, some organization is out to get them." The father said his two daughters, ages 22 and 24, live in New York.

My first thought too. No chickenE36 M3 attorney trying to do a Johnny Cochran makes me a happy old fat man.

About the kid's daddy's statement: so it's a police department inside job? And there will be hell on earth if the second son is killed? But it's okay for them to indiscriminately kill an 8 year old boy? What a jerkoff.
