It's an ad targeted to an audience with a wicked sense of humor and an appreciation for green technology. Certainly not a lucrative demographic in a self-absorbed US market.

The ad reminds me of a Top Gear episode where Clarkson comments on a 911 Turbo and says the engine management is so good, the exhaust is cleaner than the air going in.

I've heard that about several cars (all the ULEV and PZEV vehicles). But Volvo's can clean the air with the engine off! They applied a catalyst coating to their radiators that converts ozone into oxygen as the air flows over the fins (the radiators have to be warm for it to work though).
