I must say, I never thought I'd make the SEMA website main page as a news item. Yeah that's my ugly mug. And now you all know my real name. I must say I was flattered as hell when my friend called to tell me that my job change made the page. My friend wrote up a press release for me and I assumed it would be ignored like the bulk of the press releases I've seen sent to SEMA.
I start the new job Monday. It's nice to think that I've finally moved up to a real position at a real company.
Congrats..
Save this in a file for future use as part of your "portfolio"
Congratulations! That's pretty cool.
Good job, but I thought you were younger with more hair.

Hehe, sadly I'm only 31. I wear a hat now, trying for a trademark look since the waxed & curled mustache is already taken.
I saw you once though, driving up I-75 at the top of Atlanta in your ambulance towing the 510 and I swear you were chomping on a cigar.
So far the job has been great. I spent half of my first two days in meetings, but so far I've already been given more power to make decisions than I've had in years. I have jumped in with both feet on a project and I've already made headway. Now to just keep this up til the project deadline next week.
And even more amazing I'm just expected to do MY job, not 3 or 4 jobs that have nothing to do with what I was hired to do. Everything I've done for the past 13 years really has come together. From the different jobs working full time to going to school at night for 10 years to get my degree, in the last two days I have realized that it was all worth it. I can hold my own in a crowded meeting room of professionals and finally think of myself as a peer.
I'm gonna have to send another bottle of Jack Black to Keith Maney at YearOne. He gave me my break all those years ago and without that chance I wouldn't be doing what I am now. When I quit YearOne I put a big bottle of Jack Black on his desk and thanked him heartily for the chance and I moved on.
Keep looking out there folks, I know the job market sucks, but opportunities are there. Don't let your boss drum you down with "you should just consider yourself lucky to have a job". Stand up, sell yourself and go take the job you want.
Did anybody tell you that you could slightly pass for Screech?

Yep that was me, cigar and all. I had left Roebling Road and was headed to meet a girl.
That was the thread that got me started in this nut house of a forum. A buddy told me "their talking about you" so I signed on and replied to your post. After reading through some of the threads I said to myself "these people ain't right - I'll fit right in".
I never knew you had a name Congrats
Congratulations!
All my public pictures have numbers under them.

Many congrats, Brian!
Keith is a great guy and I'm certain he really appreciated your parting gift; the next one will be received with even more gusto!
I work to emulate your efforts in securing a worthwhile "post Year One" employment opportunity, too............
Definitely keep copy of that for the future. Just a cool thing that the family can look at years from now. I have a couple of things like that and my kids get a huge kick out of seeing dad in the news. My older kids actually understand what I did and I think they may actually be a little proud of there old man. I think that is pretty cool. Having them be proud has been better than what I did to actually get my ugly mug in the news.
