I think we can keep this non-political

The dude is actually still saying that he was confused about which helicopter he was in. As in, a few days ago, he was pretty sure he was in the one which was hit with an RPG, and now that he remembers more clearly, it was actually the helicopters 50 miles away from him. Easy to mix those up, right?
Hahaha not surprised.
Maybe he's trying to say that he's such a badass that he often forgets whether the particular helicopter he was on was hit with an RPG or not
Why would he lie? It is real easy to get confused about if your helicopter got hit by a RPG or not. Ever ride in a chopper? I rode in a Jolly once. They are real noisy. Couple of RPG's could hit you and force you down in the desert during a sand storm and you'd never notice it. I mean, I'm sure that everything else he says is the truth as well. He's not just an actor reading a script, you know.

Like all other anchors on all other networks and newspapers and websites....The only surprise is that he's owning up to it...

He's only owning up to it because someone that was on the aircraft with him went public. And it seems that someone could remember which one he was on and if his aircraft was shot. Although, you know, those things are so noisy and bouncy, it's really hard to tell when a rocket shoots a grenade into them and explodes. Anyone could make that mistake. And he just wanted to, you know, give some "atta-boy's" to all the guys, so he just might have stretched it a bit. Like Rather being in the Marine Corp, for example. Washing out of boot camp is almost the same thing, right?
I'm totally shocked. It's almost like there is no integrity at all in for profit news organizations. He is one handsome devil though. I bet he pulls in a lot of ass.
In reply to Dr. Hess:
Well then it's not such a surprise. But for the record, I don't trust any of them to tell the truth.

Especially after rapping with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. If he had any balls whatsoever, he would do another visit making a complete fool of himself.

Well then if this story got him laid, he could chalk it up to "doesn't matter, had sex"
Hillary Clinton told a similar lie about being under fire in Bosnia. Or does that make it political?

Ronald Regan told the Japanese ambassador that he remembered liberating the concentration camps in National Socialist Party Germany at the end of WWII. It was a movie he stared in. There, now it's not political.
In reply to Dr. Hess:
I saw that movie and so in a way I too liberated concentration camps in National Socialist Party Germany at the end of WWII. This hero stuff is easy once you get the hang of it.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
I'm leaning towards a really bad memory on that one..
Cool. Since I've visited Dachau I should be getting my Medal of Honor any day now!
Reminds me of when Kurt Waldheimer, Prime Minister of Austria, contracted "Waldheimer's Disease" and forgot his Nazi past.
I'm leaning towards Alzheimer's Dementia. What's Hillary's excuse?
Hey, I was in a helicopter once. And another helicopter (somewhere, sometime) got shot down. And the one I was in landed. And we got out and then marched around some. And I seem to recall wearing green at the time with blue name tags. So, if I get this Main Stream Media thing, I can claim that I got shot down and was forced to march back to camp. And we were all real lucky that the pilot managed to bring that thing down safely and we didn't lose any lives, and a quick Shout Out to Jolly Green Giant Pilot for saving us all. And to the crew chief for saving our hearing by providing ear muffs. They are the real heroes.
Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this. I should send a resume to MSNBC.

I've single-handedly won WW2 in a number of video games, so you and Reagan can suck it!
In reply to Tom_Spangler:
Yikes! Now that is some news I could really get behind!

Don't get me started about that sack of E36 M3.
He's a great father too. Real supportive of his daughter's umm... acting abilities. May be NSFW: https://www.google.com/search?q=brian+williams+daughter+butt+licking&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
TV news is entertainment. All of it. If you want real data then print news is as close as you can get although you still have to read it with a skeptical mindset for bias. It cross all political spectrums too. Brian Williams can't remember which chopper he was in. Fox News is talking about whole French cities where non-muslims are banned. It's all about ad revenue and pitching sensationalism for the purpose of getting more of that revenue.
