My mother had a 240 like this one in brown. I might be slighted because of my fond memories, but I think it was cool.

Dude....

Brown StarQuest!

There's one around here with a nasty exhaust that sounds like a 4", bigass fmic, and spools like a tractor.

Brown StarQuests look awesome.

I think any off-road vehicle that's been "painted brown" by the racing environment is pretty cool (like the Dakar-winning Mitsubishi below).

By the way, I had a classic Mini Clubman that was brown many years ago. Can't find any pictures of it right now. Not my favourite colour, but It looked OK.

Ok, so it's not really brown. It was pretty brown that day though.

My bud who has the British car harem used to have a 2 tone brown MGB roadster, it was dark brown above the chrome strip and a cream color below. It's the only one I have ever seen and it really looked good.

Land Cruisers always look good in brown/tan.

Not to project, but I'm guessing E36 M3 brown was the idea behind the OP's question. (For the record, Land Crushers do indeed look best in tan. Unless they're FJ40s, in which case baby blue is acceptable as well.) Which is appropriate, because I firmly believe E36 M3 brown cars are indeed the E36 M3. (Man, hope I didn't break the filter.)

And John, I can't believe it never occurred to me, but when I finally get around to nasty turbonized NA Miata ownership, I will indeed paint it proper '70s E36 M3 brown. I actually think it will look pretty good, since it's obviously a '60s-inspired shape.

Just ocurred to me: I went on vacation with my folks years ago to San Fran, and not only did we spot a 911SC in metallic doody brown, I bought a t-shirt from the record store in the Haight with which I fell immediately and irrevocably in love, Amoeba Music. And the color of that t-shirt? The brown in question. My dad that day christened the color 'bright brown' which I think works nicely.

Seconded. That's hawt paint, especially on a coupe, and major props to the Bavarians for having the stones to replicate that out-of-date color. It's actually a little too metallic, but that's close to the color I'd like to paint my hypothetical Miata.

Not meaning to threadjack but Formula hood with cutout for Trans Am "shaker" scoop? A little reduntant on the scoops.

Oh personally I don't think a brown 70's Spit is too bad.

That Vette combines so many characteristics that I hate into a car that I absolutely love. Just look at those seats!

We decided that he needs to sell it as a package. Buy the Vette and get a custom-cut, color matched leisure suit, with 6-inch lapels, a pair of matching naugahyde boots, a tight perm and a perfectly-groomed mustache, hairy chest wig with a bigass medallion, along with a matching sidekick buddy that speaks CB lingo and cracks wise to the ladies at stoplights and in bars, and accompanies you on a Cannonball Run.

And, of course, a spare tire well full of top-notch Bolivian blow.

This I have to contest... the "sidekick" has to have big blond hair, a small waist, and look like Farah Fawcett. 1970's Fawcett, that is.

I think there was one in Corvette Summer, too. Possibly the worst movie ever.
