You have it easy. Been a total of 9* fahrenheit here today, and that was after two feet of snow fell yesterday.
Sounds like the weather we were having a couple weeks ago, we even hit colder and dipped into the sub zero temps. Oddly this last week it was all in the 40's and 50's.

actually it was single digits this morning ... the 17° was the high... and it's suppose to be near zero tonight...
and I knew I was inviting a bunch of "I gotcha beats" when I started this thread
sorta reminds me of my Granddaddy's favorite saying " first liar doesn't stand a chance".
It was about -34.5* F when I was out on a walk to the library today and saw a bunch of freezing orphans. Knowing that they were close to death, I quickly stripped down to my skivvies and donated my coat, sweatshirt, pants, shoes, and socks to the freezing children. I then killed a deer with my bare hands that was passing by, started a fire using my glasses as a magnifying glass, and fed them fresh venison. After they were all well fed and warm, I put them on my back and carried them to the Catholic Church where I knew that Sr. Silvia would be able to take care of them. I went home and tried to take a shower, but the hot water heater was out so I just made some macaroni and cheese and went to bed.
Wimps.
I had to spend 20 minutes putting foam covers on my faucets Sunday night so they wouldn't freeze the pipes AND had to let my car warm up this morning before leaving for work. I mean, people could die when it gets below freezing!
Today's high only hit 60*, I hope the grass doesn't die.
(all of the above brought to you by the local Austin news stations)

That's what driving God's chariot will do to you!
This morning it was -27 C (about -17F) outside before factoring in wind. I forgot to plug in my block heater and my civic had been sitting for over 24hours.
Tried my remote start but the car wouldn't crank long enough to fire before the remote start stopped cranking. Ended up killing my battery by the time I realized what was going on. Luckily my parent's corolla started right up (wasn't plugged in either) so I was able to jump my car.
Did a tach re-learn on the remote start this evening to about 1000rpm instead of 700rpm, hopefully now it'll keep cranking until it's actually started not just coughing and sputtering.
Wow . Anything below about 50F is hard for me to fathom.
By comparison, it got to about 95 here yesterday. On the other side of the world.

Yeah, but it looks like the windchill was much lower:
Ft. Lauderdale- 36* this morning. OK, way warmer than a lot of you guys, but no heat combined with old bones is not pleasant. Expecting 20s tonight, freeze damage to crops.
Transmission was frozen solid on the Escort this morning. Took two hands to pull it out of gear to start it.
Last night the door lock on my car froze. And not the key cylinder, but the little stick in the door you push up and down.

Ha, ha, ha,...sorry, the Protege's driver's rear door does that every fall, a certain sign winter is on it's way. I've lubed the lock, striker, all exposed door mechanism...to no avail.
Tried vice-grips on it once, and was afraid I'd shatter something in the door before it would unlock....So, no driver's rear door for me over the winter.
AND I HAVE TO WARM UP THE SPEEDOMETER when it gets below 30ish, otherwise it will indicate correct speed until about 25, then shoot up to 60-70, sometimes 100+ while buzzing louder than the radio. Looked up removing the dash to repair the gears in the speedo. I drive it by tach/gear table until it warms up. 17 out now, would take at least a half hour for it to properly work. Heat on full blast defrost...

I hear ya man. I had to thaw out my Sunfire this morning. Cooling system was frozen up. I ended up yanking the fuse for the radiator fan for the drive to work. I probaby won't put it back in for the drive home. Man that is cold.

Some people like a REALLY HOT shower.
And Atlanta recorded an official low temp of 14 today. That breaks the previous record of 15 which was set in 1917.
Hot 'Lanta needs to work on its' image - as usual.
Hot water heaters are ALWAYS out town on days like today.
SERIOUS NOTE: Check on any elderly you may know. Didn't go to the pharmacy 'cause too cold; too cold to turn the heat up; shoveling snow and fall down in the back yard, etc...
And don't forget the animals not used to, or built for this type of cold.
We've had pretty cold weather (for us) over the last few days, but it shot up to 70+ today and should hit 80 tomorrow.
If I lived in a place that had temps in the teens I'd pack up and move.
