Bump. Guess what I'm building Sunday?
Where the legs of the 4x4s meet the ground, did anyone do anything special? I don't think I need concrete, or even gravel. A co-worker has his on a pile of packed clay. Any tips here?
I used a DIY hardware kit and scavenged most of the lumber. It had 2 swings and a cross bar, but it just sat on the ground, no concrete. Kids loved it. I second the recommendation from Mazduece, hang them high, it's a lot more fun.

I have mine right on the ground, but I used cedar 4x4s so they won't rot. I did use a laser level to measure the irregularity of the ground and then cut each post to a slightly different length, so that everything would be level up top.
