Who puts together these lists? The Aztek belongs there, but the Enzo? C'mon, now!

A lot of those would fall under "Luke's 50 most distinctively styled cars of the past 50 years." My ugliest list would contain many more blobs from the '90s, and several Bangle Bimmers.

Also, I'm pretty sure Business Week will find that the Enzo's curves are anything but superfluous.

El Camino? How does that belong there?

I can't figure that one out, either. Especially when most every new car on sale is fugly beyond belief.

I would drive any of those cars. The world is full of narrow minded people, the author being one of those.

And on top of the El Camino, the Cadillac Cimarron? It was better looking that the Cavalier, and I'll go so far as to say it wasn't even ugly, just a bad car. Then the Mercury Sable was a great looking car for its day. Even now when I see a first gen, it will turn my head. But then again, I want a Yugo.

You know, the Enzo really does look like a Formula 1. Follow the v-shaped hood down to the inner and bottom surfaces of the two front openings. It's the nose of a Ferrari F1. The author is off his rocker. The Enzo might not be one of the most beautiful Ferraris (still top 10), but it's more beautiful than 99.6 percent of all cars on the road today.

I think there's a Citroen Ami close to where I work. The first time I saw it, I did a double-take because of that bizarre roofline.

Why is the Delorean on there? That is a good looking car. What idiot put that list together? I can think of a several cars that deserve to be there a lot more.

Both of those questions went through my mind...

I figured they had nothing intelligent to say when they complained about the lack of a "front grille" on the VW Thing.

I don't know that any of those cars are particularly ugly, and most of them broke some kind of new ground either for their manufacturer or the industry in general. Maybe every month or so a group of car people should do a story on which news and business weeklys are best used as bird cage lining

Enzo is far more deserving of a place on that list than the Aztek, Sure the Aztek is ugly, but the Enzo is just a travesty, it really is one of the ugliest vehicles ever. At least the later Aztek's looked 'OK' once all the body cladding was body colored. The only good looking Enzo's were the remains of wrecks where you couldn't identify what it once was.

I have to agree that the Enzo looks absolutely horrid. Not saying it's not desirable or an awesome perfromer, but the styling makes the car hard to look at for more than a few seconds or I get woozy.

I think the Maserati MC12 is uglier than the Enzo. I mean a lot uglier.

Also Bond Bugs are awesome. So are toaster vans and LM002s.

But I can forgive the MC12 as it's really a race car where function comes over form

Agree x1,000,000. When i was a teen in England you couldn't give away Bond bugs, if only

"The body's design, though, isn't too far from the language of Volkswagen and Volvo: simple, proportional, and efficient." (From the Yugo entry)

If you are making a list of the 50 ugliest cars and you get 3 sentences and one picture to describe each of them and you find that one of your three sentences is this one consider taking the car off your list.

I'm not a real fan of the Enzo - it looks too much like they were trying to make it look like an F1 car, and what works on an open wheeler doesn't work so much on a sports car. But that list is pretty weird - they managed to get some true attrocities there (Citroen Ami, the Fiat Multipla come to mind), but I think at least 2 out of 3 on the list are pretty decent looking.

There's something "cheesy" about the Enzo, but it isn't ugly by any stretch of the imagination. This list was obviously put together by some yuppie appliance-driver.

I didn't look through it thoroughly, but I didn't see this one on there, which is IMHO, one of the uglier things ever on the road:

The exact thought I had. The author fails design 101.

All hail unique cars!
