Wes Welker’s costly drop in the fourth quarter did produce one positive for Patriots fans in Boston: Free snacks.
Folks walking around Copley Square in Beantown Tuesday stumbled upon a mountain of Butterfinger candy bars and a sign that reads “Thank you, Wes Welker.”
Welker, of course, dropped a pass from Tom Brady with the Patriots clinging to a 17-15 lead and in need of a first down to try to salt the game away. The drop — or bad throw by Brady, you be the judge — led to a Patriots punt and Eli Manning led the Giants on an 88-yard game-winning drive.
The operation behind the stunt is pawngo.com, an Internet pawn shop based in Denver that wanted to have a little fun and insert itself in the middle of the Boston vs. New York rivalry (they’re Tim Tebow fans). In doing so they dumped 900 pounds of the peanut butter candy bar in the Back Bay neighborhood.
Now that right there is fuuuuuny.
Though in truth I have to admit it would have been a really tough catch, the ball could have been placed better.
Patriot fans suck. They are acting like a bunch of titty babies.

Or if the team had played better the rest of the game, it wouldn't have depended on that catch..............
Branch and Hernandez both dropped passes on their final drive. As much as I hate Wes berkeleying Welker (Jets fan here) he did what he could and is the wrong scape goat here. They were ahead. Perhaps the defense dropped the ball?

Werd.
More often than not it's wrong to scapegoat a single individual for a loss in a team sport. Just ask Scott Norwood....

Damn, that's pretty harsh.
Just call me Mr. Butterfingers......

I feel so sorry for him and his millions.
My response would have been, " Mountain of candy? berkeley YEAH!"

Can they be cited for littering?
It turns out the humorless folks of Boston did cite them for littering. They shoulg have just got Bill Buckner out there to see if he could pick them up.
might not be so funny when wes welker shows up on the evening news swinging from a DIY gallows pole wearing a pawngo t-shirt...

but they deserve to always win- they are, after all, the Patriots..
If they lose, the terrorists win.
