It just occurred to me while shopping for a used minivan that I found a great deal, but the color is awful. How insane would it be to buy it anyway and just have it wrapped in a color I like? Sure the door sills wouldn't match, but I doubt that would bother me. I know there are car colors that are harder to sell (like yellow). Does a cheap vinyl wrap make it a moot point? Would the same work for a car with paint damage (but no dents)? The cost of the vinyl wrap (and whether you DIY or not) I assume would make a big difference.

DIY makes all the difference. From what I understand a quality professional wrap is about $2K. So it would have to be one hell of a discounted price.

Looks like Amazon has DIY wrap kits for $500. So that plus the value of my time equals the number to beat on a discount. I'd guess it would need to be a grand cheaper than other comparable vehicles on the market to make it worth the effort. Oh well.
