I think the answer may be Miata but I'm not sure. Car is on a dealers lot, 1990 model, factory hardtop,200,000 miles on odometer. Claims 80,000 on motor. 5speed manual, right side rear end damage, looks cosmetic only [fender and turn signal etc]. Any monsters in the closet I should look for before I bring him home? If the answer is cut and run I can do that too. Thanks !
Well, for $800 it's a no-risk proposition if you get a hardtop.
the answer became '58 Pontiac last week. Unless there is severe rust or crash damage, any running Miata should be worth at least that much. Hard top is a big bonus.

How much is a hardtop worth? What year models will the first generation hardtop fit?
hardtops seem to sell for $800-1200 here in Michigan

Hardtops are getting out of hand. I wish I hadn't sold mine.
Zackly. They're worth anything from $500-1000 depending on condition and how many the Spec guys in your region have destroyed recently. The prices haven't really changed that much in the last 8-9 years really, but the freaky super-deals are drying up.
A 1990 hardtop will fit any 1990-05 Miata, although it won't have a defroster.
