Looking at an F150 to replace my fiesta and need to know about NC Weighted Tags and if I would need them.

Here is what I think I know right now: you are fine up to 9000lbs combined on a normal plate but anything over that you need a weighted plate that covers your maximum combined weight.

Do I have that right? Also I know you can run NC Amateur Radio tags and have weight added to them as well does anyone know if that is cheaper than the normal weighted plate?

Does NC DMV have an internet site?

In reply to iceracer:

Weighted tags stuff isn't on there and it is by far the worst government website I have ever used.

I was under the impression that weighted tags were for commercial vehicles only, much like SC's P tags.

Lawyer speak is difficult to comprehend.

20-63 covers weighted tags.
