Double clutching a cheap clutch don't do nuthin but kill it in half the time...and I don't know, because I've never drag raced...but wouldn't a double-clutch actually slow you down on "the strip"?
Seriously, tho...I'm still thinking grade 5 bolts on the flywheel of a high HP motor. Sometimes, something done half-way isn't better than something not done at all...

One usual techniqe is to just stay in the gas and slam the clutch in and out as fast as possible while timing the shift appropriately. This takes some practice to do successfully.
However, holding the clutch in too long might result in an adverse reaction. . .
