I'm looking for a truck, preferably a Dakota or other smaller truck. I'm going to flat tow a car (2700 lbs) up to MI. I'm asking here because it's tough to find a truck you can rent besides a u-haul and it's horrendously expensive. I'm not asking if you'll rent me your truck for $5, but I don't want to spend the $400 u-haul wants. Plus, I don't need that much truck and could save $$ on fuel.
I'll pay you in cashola and if you want, do some work on the truck if you'd like as part of the trade (ASE certified mechanic).
Just a shot in the dark folks.....

Probably Atlanta since that is where all the good cars are.
If you are towing from the south:
- fly down to south
- buy nice truck for dirt cheap
- tow car to MI
- sell nice truck at nice profit in the rust belt

I'm going from MI to VA, then back to MI. I would use my wife's minivan, but I'm also bringing back a Kaw Ninja at the same time.
As for the when, either the 1st or second weekend in October.
I thought about flying down there, buying a truck and selling it up here but I just don't have the scratch right now.
I know I'm asking for a lot, but figured I'd give it a try.
My Uncle used to make decent money buying oldtrucks in PA (they are generally rust free due to their inspection process that fails unibody rust) and driving back home to the UP

As someone who has shopped for trucks in PA, this really makes me laugh... "rust free"??? ...but yes, the inspection standards in PA will fail a vechicle for major rust holes in the body or fenders... Whenever we go to upstate NY, the condition of the winter beaters up there always make us pause as cars that leave a trail of rust flakes behind them would never be legal in PA.
You're welcome to my dually. It's not what you are looking for, but I also wouldn't charge you much. Maybe we could horse trade something.
