My vote is for no filters.

Unless that meant no forum, but I doubt it would make much if any difference.

Censorship of any kind is silly and not a win win.

I can hurt your feelings without using "bad" words.

I can say "bad" things without using "bad" words.

So what we have is not really censorship but a joke disguised as such.

Any extension of that would be censorship, then who gets to decide what is "bad"?

As we slide down that slippery slope I will say that I would be offended and my feelings would suffer significant injury should someone decide I am not capable of restraint. As there are times when certain words are appropriate.

My feelings are doubly injured when I cannot invoke my father's name!

Next comes the thought police......

My company doesn't really care if I browse the forums during my breaks. But they would care if there are bad words on there. And yes, there are filters that would catch it.

First post was a quote from a different thread.

In reply to bentwrench:

Just to be clear, Margie gets to decide what is bad. This forum is paid for and offered to us to use by the kindness of the GRM Magazine crew. The word filters have nothing to do with whether anyone thinks you are capable or incapable of showing restraint, and has everything to do with the fact that certain content will not be allowed on this site. Thank you for your participation.

So now if I call someone or myself a whore I should actually use an whore because the filter changes the context.

I prefer the Frank Reynolds pronunciation of "hoo-er"

Can I use it in a sentence?

"I'm gonna make that hoo-er my wife!"
