Can we upgrade our Smiley Face Choices?

There's another site, I think it's a Mustang site, that has the best damn smileys ever. I have it bookmarked just so I can hotlink from it on other forums, BUT, my computer is taken apart for the move.

I'm on here at work. Sssshhhhh!

Aside from being ugly and clunky, the page code is overly complicated which makes it slow and occasionally infuriating to load on bad ISPs (like mine), and it's really buggy. I frequent several vBulletin forums and they've ALL gone down and lost the database during "updates" at some point or another. Every thread and every PM just gone like that. (Most recent example I can think of was DMCtalk in March...) Plus quite a few of them have been hacked. By script kiddies.

Why would you want GRM to rip out this board, which admittedly isn't 100% perfect but works quite well, and replace it with some crap commercial product they'd have to pay for? From our point of view, the forum users, we'd lose everything for no benefit whatsoever. Okay, we'd have youtube embedding which is terrible and some extra smileys. No thanks. Not every forum on the internet needs to look the same. I'm tired of squinting at medium-darkish-grey text on slightly lighter grey backgrounds on the vB boards. Ick.

Plus, here I can use normal HTML to insert hotlinks or images instead of stupid BBcode, which rocks.

Everything Jay said is 1000% true. And then some. The only people who pay good money for vBulletin are people who don't know better.

I would vote yes for the canoe smiley, but definitely no animated ones.

And... I had a hard time looking away from rainbow kitty. WTF is up with that?
