Taking a back road I saw this in front of someone's house. Phone number, no info. Looks rust freeish, engine is out but some other type bell housing-engine can be seen lying on its side in the engine bay.
I called the number with no response yet.
Buddy of mine had one in high school. We used to pack four or five kids in the back, then Dick would pop the clutch and yank the front wheels off the ground.
What would you pay for one?
What's wrong with me?
Nevermind.
They are kinda neat cuz they are different but it's not worth more than a few hundred. I'd give him scrap value and drop in a 4.3L vortech or a turbo dodge and giddyup!
Came with the 4 cyl Hurricane engine and a T-90 3 sp trans mission.
I think Postal versions had the horizontal grill, while the ones sold to the public had more Jeep-like grills.

Yeah, it's a DJ-3 (dispatch Jeep) with a different body. It's slow and loud but you'll NEVER see yourself coming down the road.
Update:
Got a call from the seller.
It's from California, Cali title, rust free and all. The rear brakes have been upgraded to discs. The engine I see laying in the engine hole is a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder automatic with 14,000 miles on it. It's fuel injected and he's got the electronics.
The guy lives in Syracuse and is being transferred to Rhode Island, the Jeep is at his BIL's house. BIL wants it gone.
Seller is asking $850. Claims there's two guys from Cape Cod, one wants the engine, the other wants the Jeep; might be here in two weeks.
I asked what his rock bottom, I'll set it on fire in the back yard forst price was; he said $700.
What say ye?

Engine/trans combo should be worth almost that much, I'd think. Sounds like fun to me.
I can't see the original photo, but I'd love to have one of those, even as yard art.
I wandered over to the Credit Union.
Girl behind the counter cheerfully tries to help me. "Nah, I don't want to withdraw $300 for a car I don't want or a project I don't have time for. I've got $400 in my sock drawer and my wife doesn't care if I drag something home. Maybe I should have just turned left gone to the museum...."
Well, I don't have $400 in my sock drawer, so you better take this.
She drops 3 100s on the counter.
You guys are such enablers!

Can't see your pic right now, but sounds neat. Thought this was interesting
Needs a 4X4 conversion and a lift
I'm thinking spring-under-axle swap to drop it.
Cool! Which grill does it have?

I think it will already be a spring under - the quick n dirty - a few spacer blocks and you can drop an inch or two pretty easy.
If it looks like the box and not the Jeep that is awesome (pic wont work for me up top). If not, still cool but not quite as much.

The cool vertical one. No mistaking it's a Jeep.

I googled FJ-3, it looks like the box. I see frame laying ice cream truck. Complete with bomb pops. Bring it to challenge, and be everyones best friend.

If it has the t-90 transmission, Novak Adapters has a kit so you could bolt in a Zetec/XFlow/CVH/Lima/Pinto.
