I'm cleaning the basement and found an old Dynaco amp that I might hold on to, and an old Kenwood amp that actually cranks that I think is sold already. But I also have some RCA cables from me pre-HDMI days. I have a pair of AudioQuest AudioTruth cables, 1M. They are green and have a black, braided plastic sheath crimped in. I also have a pair of AudioQuest (Ruby?) 1M RCAs. I can't seem to narrow down a value. From what I've seen, somewhere between $100 and $1,000. That doesn't help. I'll try to post some pics later.

Nobody knows, that's like asking what a crashed weather balloon is worth to a UFO nut. I'd bet $1000 that nobody could tell that cable from a cheapo one from a department store by the resulting audio quality.

To a sane person, it's worth maybe $10 if it looks cool.

In reply to GameboyRMH:

"Audiophiles" will pay boatloads of money for anything given the right sales pitch, literally anything, including the outlet it's plugged into.

For seeing what people are willing to pay for these, I'd go to ebay and look at sold listings.

Trust me, when the rest of your system is upgraded, these make a difference. Some wouldn't hear the difference just like some wouldn't feel the difference after switching to very light wheels and R-comp tires.
I heard the difference after switching to better speaker wire.

I Tried eBay auctions but somehow totally forgot to check completed listings. Thanks. The only current listing is $450, but it's not the same.

Maybe you think you could, but I bet you couldn't:

What helps more is a good clean connector. If the connectors on your old wires were a bit tarnished, that could've made the difference.

Ugggghhhhhh who cares about double blind ababababababababababbbabababa testing or whatever. If it makes people happy let them do it. Full disclosure: I can hear the difference between certain cables in my setup, and no i won't prove it to you, it's MY system and i don't give a E36 M3 what you think.

Also: LOL @ thinking Monster Cables are going to sound better than coat hangers or the cheapest Rat Shack garbage you can find, anyways. Monster and Bose belong in the same category. BETTER SOUND THROUGH ADVERTISING.

Boost, no idea what they're worth, sorry. I usually play on the lower end of the Audioquest scale. Had Sidewinders, upgraded to Red Racers and haven't touched them in probably 4 years.

As an electrical engineer who has designed power systems, I had to chuckle at that link. A good power filter will do way more than a $250 power outlet.

And good, shielded cables can make a difference... in a purely analog setup. I'm talking vinyl record, tube amps, the works.
