I dont know if to thank him or not ... I lost like three hours reading all that :D But yeah, it was interesting.
a guy i went to school with has been running an honest used car lot in a small town for almost 20 years... he knew nothing bout cars when he took the place over from the previous guy, but he's a master mechanic now that doesn't screw people over on price and tells you everything that's wrong with the car before he sells it to you.

Very true. Nobody seems to understand how to negotiate and lots of customers have the attitude that they have to "beat" the seller in order to be happy. I know some such people personally.
On the seller's side, some think: "If he'll pay X then my job is to get him to pay X+100." Hence, the last two NEW cars I bought involving: "Sir, I'm sorry, my salesman didn't have authority to go that low."
