The warm weather caused me to pull the lawn tractor out and get it ready for the season. Drained and flushed of old gas, everything cleaned up, fresh gas in, fresh plug in, clean air filter in, battery cranking nicely. The engine has gas, and air, and spark, but no boom boom. Crap, I hate carbs. How do I fit an EFI and be done with it? Perhaps an older SPICA mechanical system would be cool.

Best to empty the fuel at the end of the season and leave it dry. Carb needs to be cleaned, there are a few small passages that get clogged easily.
FI seems like a somewhat expensive fix for a minor problem. But it would be cool.

you could megasquirt a steam engine with the right sensors.

Please make a build thread of your EFI lawn tractor. You will be hearlded as a hero among man and beast alike.
Gas,air and spark, you forgot compression.
Very likely the needle valve in the carb is stuck.
check out electrojet. They are making self contained EFI for mopeds and such.
ah that reminds me i have to clean the carb on my push mower, it stopped wanting to start at the end of last season. As little as I use it I wonder what the point is.
My lawn tractor I've been starting every few weeks and letting it run for a few minutes. But now I have to take off the plow that I didnt even have to use this year and re-install the deck.
I always forget compassion. Oh wait, compression, I see.

there is gas in the tank but is it getting to the chamber, thats the last little important part.
A little starter fluid will help to narrow things down.
pull the carb off.. pull it apart.. clean it out.. put it back together.. put it back on..
seems way much more simpler than adding unnecessary electronics.
Certainly! I MS'ed a 3.5 Briggs and Stratton a few years ago. It was hard at the time to find a small enough injector and reasonably sized fuel pump, but it's become a lot easier since with the influx of EFI on bikes and scooters.
