I know they have been mentioned.  I always thought of these guys as "Canada's House Band".  I first heard them when I was living in Ann Arbor in the late 80's, on 89X-CIMX out of Windsor.  I really took to their sound.

Their lead singer Gordon Downie was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2015 and the band went out on their final tour in 2016.  Gord passed in October of 2017.

Sum 41 and Simple Plan are also Canadian but they're fairly popular

I can't believe nobody has suggested Evan's Blue or even better Parabelle.  Kevin Matisyn is one of the best singers ever.  A little hard to look at but his voice is magic.  One of the few bands I like that the wife and kids will tolerate.

Please don't give our secrets away to the Americans.

We don't really need Rascal Flatts ruining more Tom Cochrane songs.
