When I try to send messages I get a return mail stating that my message had permanent fatal errors, and was rejected due to "DMARC".

Do you have a YAHOO or Hotmail account? The board software doesn't play nice with those.
Well yes I do. What can I do about that though?
My yahoo account chokes too. Just look at the returned message from the server and find the other person's email address. That's what I do. Then just write a normal email using Yahoo.

Yep, that's about all you can do, unfortunately. It's a little extra step, but it is a workaround.

Unfortunately, Yahoo accounts have trouble with PMs on this site, as others have stated. I'll spare you the reasoning why they often don't work, unless you'd like to hear it.
