Car Buying Strategy

To start of this isn’t how to buy a car from a dealer as that is the easy part. Getting your wife to think you are being smart for buying a car is a bit trickier. So I found something I would like to buy, don’t ask, and we have the money yet I don’t have a clear cut easy strategy to sell the idea. The other issue is that I have used so many strategies before they are catching up with me, this one gets great mileage, this one is safe, I have always wanted one of these and of wouldn’t we look good driving around is this car (that has never worked yet I have tried it).

So wise GRM how do sell your car buying schemes?

……..it’s a 97 S10 regular cab, step side with a 4.3, lowered and in great shape……in metallic red! Oh it has a tonneau cover…….honestly I have no practical use for a second truck that can only hold two people and because it is lowered I can only carry a full load of pillows……but I have always (in the last three weeks) wanted one……

My car buying strategy has always been along the lines of: "Great googly moogly! An inoperative, total basket case obscure car! I MUST BUY THIS NOW!"

It only works because my wife knows that I will: rehab it, get bored once it starts working well, sell it and start over.

She thinks this is cheaper than golf and it keeps me at home.

Yea I don't NEED permission yet when I do it I want her all in. This tactic has worked many times yet I am out of ideas.....
