I hope that he enjoys Mexican prison (from what I understand, public execution would be preferable).

I'm sure he was street racing! Crush his car! Everybody knows that's the real problem, right?

This is going to become an "owned" picture very shortly.

Wow... that's crazy! Amazing timing on the photo... and too bad on the fatality.

How did noone see it coming though? The road seems like there is sooo much space on it and the bicyclists all seem clumped in the small area the car is in...

Guys. Someone died in that wreck (and it wasn't the drunk shiny happy person driving the car). We should put a handle on this thing before we get out of control.

He probably swerved at the last second into the group. He was probably on the right side of the road and nobody thought anything of it.

edit: was the font biggened in the Off Topic section like it was in the Grassroots Motorsports section, or is it just different in the GRM section for now?

reedit: OK, now it seems to be two different sizes. lol.

And people wonder why I'm a little hardcore when it comes to drinking and driving. Wow. Someone needs to be charged with murder.

Looks like the guy in the green and white jersey on the side of the road may have seen it coming.

Locally we have had several hit-and-run car/bike incidents recently, one involving one of our employees while riding to work. At work, we have all had close calls or have been hit while riding. We joked today that since the guy driving was an American, he was probably from our town, but truly, it's no laughing matter for those involved.

If you're in the middle of a peleton like that, you're not necessarily going to be looking up for oncoming traffic - and if even if you did see him coming, there's not much you could do about it. The guy in the green may have been leading, which meant he could see and he could get out of the way.

The helmet flying through the air is not a comforting sight.
