Ok so was I the only one who noticed tonight on the car show that during their Zero to 60 segment that they very wrongly called the Pontiac G8 a fwd car? The dense jersey guy started mocking the car and everyone else just piled on.
Ummm.... the G8 is not only RWD but it fails to suck. Its actually a pretty fun drive and rather solid at that.
I was all cool with this show but crap like this erases pretty well any and all credibility that it had with me.
Did that actually happen? How sad :(

Yeah... Have it on DVR.
I was so stunned that I rewound it and watched it again just to make sure.

Maybe they would have gotten it right if we called it a Holden Commodore....Nah, don't think so.

Just think of it as their way to help drive the depreciation of the G8 and putting them into our purchasing sweet spot that much sooner.
The G8 does suck. It was such a horrible car it couldn't all by itself save Pontiac. Now it can only come back as a police car.
Ah General the only one that really sucks is you. You treat other markets like prized gems and crap on your homeland as hard as possible.

Apparently, Flightservice is trying to drive down values even more.
A G8 whooped my Rolla up the onramp hill. The Rolla ain't slow. My Esprit or the LS400 might give him a run for his money.

Dude, don't give away my plan or it won't work!!!
Car Show has errors, but I think season 1 to season 1 it still trumps TGUS.
the V8 G8 with the 3 pedal six-box is on my bucket list.

I sometimes think that is because cars are so disposable here.. nobody cares if we get the bottom rung interior on the caddies and the Chinese get the best? All we care is that it is as cheap as possible

A fair statement, but if the general really cared, hed at least give us the option to special order the stuff. Make me pay thru the nose, fine! But let me have the option.
I test drove one and liked it. I just couldn't stomach the 14 mpg city. The thing had bucketloads of torque. It handled well. It was very comfortable and on par with BMW's imo. Also, the repair cost on it would be lower than a comparable german car.

They took up for the Camry in the 1st episode and piled on the g8? What a bunch of idiots.
I am not sure they said the G8 was FWD. They were goofing on the fact that cop cars seemed to need to be RWD, but I don't know if they ever said the G8 was FWD. I find it unlikely that Adam and the preppy guy (at least) would make that mistake.

I hated the enormous A pillars in it. Otherwise I liked it quite a bit.

BINGO! My thoughts exactly and I would replace my DD E36 with one in a heartbeat if not for the fact I would actually have to pay for the upgrade.
The fact that these guys A) Bashed it without a valid thought and B) Had no idea what the car even was before they started bashing it actually sorta pissed me off.
Car guys of average knowledge know what platform the car is built on and these guys are put forward as experts. I say keep Adam and Neil, add Caswell and then we may have a better shot at a great show.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I was like... wth? Let me rewind and see exactly what they said.
While it was not said "The G8 is a FWD pos" there was a direct implication the car was not worthy and then a direct indication that cop cars should not be fwd. They never made a reference to any other cop car than the G8 and this was a direct equation of one to the other.
In reply to dsycks:
If Caswell can act on camera as funny as he writes, he'd be great there. I laugh so hard at his stuff, but I do enjoy Matt Farrah too. I'll keep watching, mistakes or not, it's car tv and that makes it better than 80% of everything else on tv.
yep, that was bad. but it got worse when sally said he'd prefer not to have to drive and would prefer and autodriver car. if that is true, then why in the heck did he sign up for the car show!?

Also valid. He is pretty dull thus far.
Adam said that Oprah tried to give them away, then preppie guy corrected him and said that was the G6..then they went on rants about how fwd cop cars suck.. i don't think they ever realized that they were actually talking about a world class rwd car..
and why did they even mention the G8 at all? they could have said it was a 4 door Camaro or Caddy CTS (i think- that's the one on the same chassis, right?) and then talked about how awesome it is..
I thought this show was better than the first 2......
But the Vette and R8 comparison was useless. How about actually pitting them against eachother with some lap times or something instead of just looking at what they cost and cracking jokes about their percieved customer base?
Also wouldnt have minded if they let Pete Brock talk a little more, I realize its a limited time frame they are trying to meet (approx 5 minutes per segment it seems) but still....Just when it sounded like he was about to say something interesting Adam talks over him and says something stupid.

I'm not sure how long this show will stay on my Tivo's to do list.
The Vette/R8 piece was worthless as failboat said, Pete Brock comes on and you have him sit on a stool, stand around a kit car, and race slotcars all in 3 minutes? I would've liked to hear the man speak more too. I know he has some interesting things to say. Wasted opportunity. The cop car thing. Robo car segment I may have liked a bit more if they focused on how the robo car worked exactly. Of course a robo car that is programmed to go around at 8/10ths is slower than a person who is trying their hardest...that is what it is programmed to do. Why were the two robo car times not the exact same?
Do they have to redo host introductions every show or will they eventually just start the show? Does Adam have to say like us on facebook and follow us on twitter more than he says something funny and/or useful? I do not use facebook or twitter, and I get the feeling that the show is just an infomercial to drive people to follow them on social media. The rant about dudes on ex-cop motorcycles was very California centric. The discussion of crown vics kept getting overrun by adam and his motorcycle rant. Do they not realize that most of the country the police ride around in cars and it is really only CA that has dry, warm, not wet, not humid weather that allows a lot of motorcycle patrols, but crown vics are in every state? I think they are missing the mark.
Dirt track racing was the most fun the guy's had behind the wheel, but still we feel compelled to make fun of a whole region of the country and folks that do it. Again, I think the show is made with a social media consuming southern California living psuedo-car guy, not us.
