Agreed. I was also planning on telling them I'd seen the car at the muffler place. Nothing an employer likes more than the police coming to pay a visit to one of your employees!
that's a great first step toward getting your mailbox torched.
in MD, historic plates are still limited-use, yes? ie not for regular commuting, only to and from car events and /or repair shops _for repairs, not commuting_. my nephew got popped for "regular use" of his E30 with a MD historic plate. certainly you can report him to the MSP for that.
In reply to AngryCorvair :
I didn't think they actually enforced that whole "Historic" thing. Your nephew is the first person I've heard of who the police stopped for that. I'm wondering if it was a "secondary" offense...
Regardless, you are absolutely correct. As for my mailbox...meh, it's metal. And I have a security camera out there now. Nothing like an arson charge!
EDIT: County Sheriff's are apparently handing this. Just got a call back from them...that tag # has been added to the report.

i'm sure he got pulled over "by association" because one of his friends was doing dumb stuff around that same time. cop had 3 consecutive dates/times in his notes, so they did make some effort to support writing the ticket. this was in Gapland / Rohrersville, a couple years ago.
note the drive-bys on a calendar so you can tell sheriff the most likely days of week and times of day

You know, he wouldn't have time to do burnouts on your street if he was too busy answering email inquiries about his ad. I'm sure we all have lots of questions...
I'm sure 6,000 emails asking "Will that thing do a burnout?" might at least answer the question of whether an S14 will so a burnout. I'm curious, don't know about the rest of you.
Kidding aside, you've done what you can. If there's an official police report, you're probably beyond informal resolutions at this point.

I mean....I'm not going to tell you not to inquire about a particular car on Craigslist you happen to have interest in...
Seriously, if anyone does make contact with Justin, please post a transcript here.
So for reference if i weld a diff and remove the front bumper i have a drift car, correct?
Not more to do other than inform the police. The police can't act on hearsay so the most they can do is a well visit to Justin's home.
IF you are in a community where contacting his family is possible then having you and your neighbors kindly chatting them up about Justin's behavior would probably be the most effective. But that requires mutiple households asking them about Justin's disrespectful behavior.
If they repeateded the assault (made a credible threat against you and your family) then you could potentially use your video footage to see if the police would file charges. That escalates everything and could cause you some more greif before it blows over.
Hopefully Justin isn't the Sheriff's nephew. Good luck!
I just clicked the link to Justin's CL ad and it appears it has been removed. I was certainly going to ask about smoky burnouts...
I love the custom Justin sign idea.

having seen a rattlecanned honda civic delivering pizzas on historic plates in Easton.. I am not sure they enforce it
In reply to mad_machine :
I can't imagine it's actively enforced...but it is probably one additional ticket they can write when they pull you over for driving like an asshat.
He also had it listed in a different Craigslist. This one with different pics and a different price, but same tag...

it's a shame that car looks so beat, I loved that bodystyle
He now has at least one request for a smoky burnout video.

Am I the only one that feels this is getting a bit to stalking now? I realize hes a PITA volvo, and he did some stupid E36 M3 coming back and revving with buddies, but hes been reported to the police, and seems to have stopped coming by your place....
I'm letting it go right now. He seems to have calmed down his antics, perhaps the local constabulary had a chat with him. Who knows? He's stopped for now. I just think his ads are funny. Promise I'm not stalking the jerk.
Could the fact the car is up for sale be due to unwanted Police attention from owning the car?
I did LOL at the obligatory Craigslist "the paint sucks so I'll take pictures while it's raining" shots.

Agreed.
Posting the number a second time sure seems like he is occupying a bit too much rent free space in your head.
Wtf is wrong with Justin? Why isn't he putting his finger over his license plate. Doesn't he know that's how stalkers will find him!!!!
You guys went from generally supportive to fairly judgey pretty quickly. Fickle bunch here.
To be perfectly pin-point, I have zero intention of pursuing this any further, provided the shiny happy E36 M3 box owner behaves. If he starts treating our road like a drift track and my driveway as a public turn-around again, then I'll simply call the Sheriff again.
Happy?
Man, this thread is giving mob a bad name.
