We have two cats, blossom and Miura. Blossom we got 6 years ago, at about a year and a half old. Miura we got 4 years ago at about 12 weeks old. They have gotten along well, occasionally fighting, but never anything bad, just playing. Typically they groom each other and sleep together. Then, all of a sudden blossom cant be near miura without hissing, and growling. If Miura gets to close blossom will freak out and howl and sometimes poop and or pee. Any ideas?

Didn't you ever watch the Brady Bunch? Put a line of white tape down the center of the house and 'splain to them what side is who's.

Any chance she could be preggers?
Both are spade?
Cats and Dogs are very different in how they determine territory. I've had cats most of my life and I've never been able to figure them out.
Miura is probably asserting her dominance, and Blossom isn't happy about it.
Ours go at it once in a while, just to figure out who's boss. If they get too wound up, I squirt them with a water bottle. That usually solves the problem for a couple of months.
I just want to say that Miura is an awesome name for a pet.
I've seen a few of those My Cat From Hell shows (Animal Planet I believe). Generally the question would be "what has changed". Might be a health issue with one of the cats (when in a bad mood doesn't like to socialize). Also sick cats freak other cats out.
There was a show similar to what you are talking about. Here it is:

I don't know if they show the solution in the vid, but is basically was to slowly re-introduce the two cats, by feeding them on each side of a screen door, slowing moving them closer each day.

Sounds like a hormone thing to me.
I thought this would have been about a different kind of Cat... all I can add.. I am allergic to the fuzzy kind
They are both spade, so no preggy cats. The dominance thing makes sense, Miura has always been pretty docile, but she is the bigger cat. But since he came int the house as a baby blossom has always been boss.
And Miura was named Amira when we got her, so I changed it cause I liked Miura alot better. And my wife thinks the Miura is the prettiest Lamborghini.
Vets says they are good, but maybe we need a second opinion. And also, they are completely normal to us.
Thanks for the advice,
Joey

When I was young and fighting with my sister, the parents drove us both to the front gates of local orphanage. After explaining how it was really a forced child labor camp and how poor the food was, we were threatened with becoming residents there if we didn't stop fighting with each other. It worked.
Maybe it's time to take Fluffy to the local oriental restaurant and show him/her the mystery meat on a stick. Have the same "pep"talk.
Has one gone to the vet recently. Ours can smell the vet on the other and will hiss at it for days. Or it could be dominance.
Nice car related names btw. The wife and I have Veyron and Austin. We did have an Enzo, but he is in victory lane now.

Good point, but they were doing this before the vet. We took blossom to the vet cause we were afraid she was sick. Plus, blossom seems to br the aggressor.
Good names for your cats!
