by the time I posted that and went to delete the user, they had three more content-free posts (i.e. like the one quoted above) in the chainsaw threads.

That's a problem with y'alls approach of trying to stamp out spam after it shows up. Stop it before it starts instead.

I know there are folks in the homebuilt aircraft end of things using a modified chainsaw to start ther 1/2 VW engine conversions they are using in WWI aircraft replicas-- lighter than an electrical system, battery and starter!
