How do you change a parts color from the the generic grey that all the parts are in? I have a circuit board I would like to make green so it will stand out.

Id be careful. A circuit board is the way it is for a reason. Doing pretty much anything to it could cause a problem with any heat reduction that it may do without the assistance of heat sink. Id leave it alone, but do as you will.

??? I just drew the basic outline of a circuit board in Solidworks for packaging purposes and I just want to change the color from the grey that all parts are when drawn.

Unfamiliar with Solidworks. I thought you were trying to change the color of circuitry which is not uncommon with do much circuitry styling. Actually if that was the plan, it would look pretty cool. Obviously not. So let Mr look it up...

EDIT: LOL. Essentially 3ds Max. Yea no clue. Stopped messing with those programs because my answer was always, "with a baseball bat."

Right Click on the part name in the feature tree, click on the little color wheel, click on the gray box that will say "Edit Color" if you mouse over it, pick the color you want, hit the green check mark.

If you want to change only certain features of faces, the process is the same, but you just select what you want instead of the whole part.

Right, what ^^^ he said.

Remember though that you can change the part, but appearances at the assembly level will override part appearances. Theres a "Remove all appearances" button in the same menu tree Dave gave you to get back to square one ;-)

So I will have to change the appearances again at the assembly level?

Thanks for the help
