I had two different Minivans, so I had it licked. Tho I did bring home Number one in a 78 Mercury Cougar.

drove an almost new escape the other day and it was amazingly nice. Ford has come a long way in the last few years in build quality and aesthetics imo.

Indeed. My wife's 2010 Fit Sport has a LOT of nice features for an econobox. Great seats, great stereo (with ipod/aux/USB), those awesome reconfigurable rear seats, a chassis 10x better than my 11 and 12 y/o Civics, a nicely tuned suspension and a decently quiet cabin on the freeway.
Small entry-level cars have come a long way, baby.
Normally I would never buy new, but I am hearing that there are better deals on new cars, so I am not ruling anything out. 0% APR is enticing, but that is usually for rich people with excellent credit that finance for 12 months. (which I never understood)
It's not "0%" but we financed our Fit at 0.9% through Honda financial. Granted, I do have screamin' good credit. There's a good chance the Mazda5 will be our next vehicle.
