My current cheap laptop is about 5 years old and is starting to act a little funny. It's probably time to start looking for it's replacement. I use it to play around online, store music (40g and counting), and deal with gopro videos. I would like to be able to plug the record player straight in to the computer to download my albums. I'd like to stay below the $400 mark. Suggestions?????
Newer used laptop. Seriously.
Or fix up this one if you can, there's a good chance it only has software problems.
Dell Outlet
I got a smoking deal on a refurbished Vostro 3550 there about 3 years ago, upgraded to 8 Gb of ram the day I got it, still rocking it. 2nd Gen i5, 7200 RPM HD, 8 Gb ram, dual/switching GPUs (intel & Radeon HD 6630M), back-lit "chiclet" keyboard. I'm playing Reaper of Souls with it no problem. DVD burner quit working within the 1 year warranty, Dell sent me a new one after a brief online chat with their customer support. I've been very pleased.
^Good idea. My office gets sweet deals on servers that way.

Therein lies the problem. I'm too computer stupid to know what all that means, much less what I actually need.
