Anything within walking distance to a purple line stop should be in play.
Domu.com was helpful when we were looking in the relative area, but ended up finding our place by walking around and seeing a for rent sign. I'll ask my old landlord if she has any places up there.
Congrats - five year program? Do they offer grad student housing? (My son attended UC Irvine and they did)
If not I'd start looking at the smallest apartment in the area or another grad student looking for a roommate.
