He was witty and irreverent which made him interesting in small doses. I read his last book and didn't care much for it but some of the earlier stuff was pretty good.
I think he was a contributor at Modern Drunkard.

He was a divisive man, but you can't say he didn't stick by what he thought was right.
I also know of a few people that he made really think about things.
