Cheap car... Bad Trany - $650 (Vineland, NJ)
Bad Trany. Stuck on 1st gear and can only go 45 mph. Clean interior. Needs paint job and bumper put on. Fenders, hood and bumper are red, rest of car is white. I'll take another car that's drivable for trade as well. Email me!!!! GREAT DEALS!!!
.....Yeah, I want to buy the car knowing that you can go 45 in first, because thats good for the engine or the Trany!

ROFL! That's exactly what I was thinking...the next ad for that car will be "Cheap car..bad tranny..needs head gasket too...$200."
Haw about every motorcycle add, "Needs carbs cleaned, ran last summer..."
I wonder if the seller even knows what make/model/year the car is.
oh, yeah, I am going to trade a running car for that piece of crap....
sounds like a quality life decision.

Yeah, doesn't it though, I mean this guy seems to be asking alot for what he's telling me about the car. Granted I bet he would have sold it by now if he put big rims on it, and said it was a 1 speed. Some of the brothers in the city would have jumped all over it, lol.

"Great car, quick and runs great still has warenty from dealer left on it. Has 111,000 miles totally stock no performance parts. Great condition inside and out."

The seller goes out of their way to note "Totally stock no performance parts." Presumably this means they realize that modified cars carry a stigma of having been beat on. However, I spy a bright red painted fascia, which usually carries the stigma of a car which is totally stock, but regularly beat on.
Oh, and also, to the people trying to sell "cafe racers" on CL- a cafe racer is a motorcycle that has been customized in a particular idiom. Your non-titled CB750 with a torn seat, black primer sprayed over the factory paint and badges and a giant dent in the tank is NOT a "cafe racer" because you put a cheap set of clubman bars on it.

Or a car that used to have a bunch of retarded mods that were removed so he could get it sold.
How about the ads where they say something like . . .
" . . . Runs really well, A/C doesn't work and just need a compressor belt . . ."
Srsly . . .a compressor belt is that $$$$$ to put on ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/whatthe-18.png)
or
" . . .Great shape and serviced regularly, just checked up and inspected, many seals done, engine runs strong. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears are great--transmissions overdrive is out. Good for putting around in, gets up to 60 comfortably. Selling cheap . . . $2100" ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/whatthe-18.png)
